What is Black Friday/Cyber Monday?

Black Friday is the day following Thanksgiving Day in the United States (the fourth Thursday of November). Since 1952, it has been regarded as the beginning of the Christmas shopping season in the U.S., and most major retailers open very early (and more recently during overnight hours) and offer promotional sales. Cyber Monday is a marketing term for the Monday after the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States. The term “Cyber Monday” was created by marketing companies to persuade people to shop online, hence the massive increase in shops wanting to have an online presence.

Black Friday/Cyber Monday is without doubt a huge sales opportunity for online shops.

In 2016, Cyber Monday sales hit an all time high, with consumers spending at $3.45 billion USD in a single day. Whilst on Black Friday traffic was up over 200% on a regular day. Wow, I hear you say!
